Justin Reese
science students, so Holger (another teacher in the Science Department) generously offered to pitch in two thousand more Baht to fund a second winner! Thanks Holger!"
In Spring 2005 Justin followed up with another three Science Scholarhips to students. In regards to awarding these three scholarhips instead of planned one he wrote: " ... I found it unpalatable to award any one of these three students - all three are head and shoulders above the rest of their peers, and none of the three is really better than the other two."

Holger received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen in Germany and went on to do research and teaching at the RWTH - Aachen in Germany for 3 years. He joined FGCC in Fall 2004 because he liked its idea and concept - offering education for students who normally would be able to afford it. Together with Justin Reese he is establishing a science department at FGCC, with a goal to offer as many experiments as possible for the students to get work with. Together with Justin Reese Holger cofounded Science Merit Scholarship and sponsored one student for this award. |
